St. Catharines looking to recognize a community group with floral display

The City of St. Catharines invites local non-profit community groups celebrating a milestone in 2018 to apply to mark the occasion using the large floral display at Pearson Park.

The City is planning its 2018 horticultural displays and is looking to recognize a community group with its floral display at the corner of Niagara and Carlton streets. In the past, the City has acknowledged local community groups celebrating anniversaries with the floral display. In 2017, the City recognized Canada’s 150th anniversary with a red and white floral design.

Non-profit community groups should contact Ilyse Norton, the City’s development horticultural technician, by email at inorton@stcatharines.ca  or phone at 905.688.5601 ext. 3140 for more information and to submit their interest for the floral display. The deadline to express interest is Friday, Dec. 1

The City will use the organization’s logo and a short phrase to recognize the milestone. The City will provide plant material, design and labour to plant and maintain the floral display. The selected community group is responsible for the signage above the floral display, estimated between $1,200 and $1,500.

City staff review all expressions of interest and will make a selection based on the significance of the milestone, number of years of service and the general appeal to all residents of St. Catharines.

  • Connecting Niagara does just that. They put me in touch with key representatives in the area that understood what I was trying to achieve. Together we achieved so much more.
