The Welland Rose Festival & the Visual Artists of Welland are partnering to present a Youth Art Exhibition – NEW this year -- and the annual Adult Art Exhibition. Please join us as artists from the Niagara Region enter their works of art in the annual Welland Rose Festival Art Exhibitions – now called WRF & VAW Youth Art Exhibition and WRF & VAW Adult Art Exhibition.
Pre-registration is required for both of these shows, with the deadline for submissions extended to Monday, June 3 for both shows! Applications can be downloaded on our website: http://www.visualartistsofwelland.com under the “Events” tab, or on the Welland Rose Festival website: https://wellandrosefestival.com under the “Application Forms” tab. Bring the filled in application along with your fee to the Welland Rose Festival Office, 30A East Main St., Welland -- door is in the back. The Welland Rose Festival will also have representatives collecting applications at the Farmers Market this Saturday, May 25, at Market Square, 70 Young St., Welland. Cost per entry is $15.00 per painting entered. Limited to 5 entries per artist of works not previously entered in the Rose Festival Art Exhibition.
The NEW Youth Art Exhibition is open to artists in Niagara Region aged 13-17 years old, giving them a great opportunity to feel what it’s like to present their artistic talents to their community, as well as see first-hand how an exhibition works, and network with other like-minded youth. The youth will have an opportunity to volunteer during their own show, with volunteer hours going towards their requirement for graduation.
Setup for the Youth Show will be 6-8 pm on Friday, June 7th, at Centre Court, Seaway Mall, 800 Niagara St., Welland, with the show & sale running all day Saturday & Sunday, June 8th & 9th, during regular mall hours.
A panel of judges will determine the winners of the YOUTH Art Exhibition with prizes for: 1st Place: $150.00 gift card or equivalent; 2nd Place: $100.00 gift card or equivalent; and 3rd Place: $ 75.00 gift card or equivalent. Prizes awarded to the youth have been sponsored by Peak Realty.
The Adult Art Exhibition is open to artists in Niagara Region aged 18 years and older. As with previous Welland Rose Festival Exhibitions this year’s People’s Choice (votes made by visitors to the exhibition) will be awarded for 1st Place - $1000, 2nd Place – $500, and 3rd Place - $250 sponsored by the Seaway Mall. Setup for the Adult Show will be Noon to 5 pm on Monday, June 10th, at Centre Court, Seaway Mall, 800 Niagara St., Welland, with the show & sale running all week Monday, June 10th to Sunday, June 16th, during regular mall hours.
Please join us for a meet & greet with other artists, event organizers and dignitaries at Centre Court, in the Seaway Mall on Monday June 10th from 6 - 9 p.m. Also join us for the WRF Awards Presentations for both Youth & Adult Shows: Sunday, June 23 at the Downtown Extravaganza at Merritt Park on King Street.
